Hello Johannesburg !

A new friend of mine took me to the bird park at Monte Casino. There were many incredibly interesting African birds. The macaws were do colourful and there were some birds that I had never seen before. They had the most biggest pelicans that I have ever seen.

I also went to Mandela Square. I will have to buy his autobiography. He is a much loved and respected man in Africa.

I went to Sandton which has a HUGE shopping centre. Lots of shops to explore . The clothes are less expensive than Australia, too.

Home in Maputo

End our first night back home. Glorious evening sea breeze last night. This morning, I watched the sun rise over the sea. Lots of washing to do today, plus shopping to fill the fridge and pantry. My driver, Silvano, will be busy taking me places. The traffic here is very busy!

Arrived in Joberg

I have arrived in Johannesburg after a 14 hour plane trip , add on two hours waiting for fuelling problems to be sorted before we even left the Tarmac! All ended well with us arriving safely and not too jet lagged. It helps to fly business class where it is easier to stretch out and sleep! Watched some good documentaries and movies, too. I am off to explore around the city with a new friend, today. Will tell you what I learn. I went to Mandela Square last night, but forgot the camera. Will take a picture to show you. I am looking forward to learning about the history and cultures here.

Let the Adventures begin!

I am starting the first leg of our trip today. Brisbane to Sydney, then Sydney to Johannesburg . We will be flying throughout the day. Travelling time 20 hours. Adeus , Australia !!

End of the Holiday

Our wonderful beach holiday must come to an end. We have had glorious weather, delicious food and the company of family and friends. Back to Brissie for two nights before the big flight to Johannesburg, South Africa .
